UNIVERSITAET HAMBURG (UHAM)

The University of Hamburg is not only one of Germany’s largest universities, but also a University of Excellence. The institution stands for innovative teaching, excellent research and deeply rooted values such as sustainability and digitalisation as guiding principles. At the Institute of Oceanography, researchers study the role of the sea in our climate and the earth system as well as the impact of climate change on the ocean. Several of these scientists are also involved in the Cluster of Excellence “Climate, Climatic Change and Society” (CLICCS), where researchers are working to understand climate change from multiple perspectives, guided by the overarching question: “Which climate futures are possible and which are plausible?”
