At EXPECT, we not only advance climate science, we also work to communicate it in a clear and accessible way. This commitment has led to the launch of the EXPECT Science Explainers, a new communication product designed to open up the scientific process behind climate research grounded in advanced climate model simulations, Earth observations, and machine learning. Through short, focused questions, EXPECT researchers will share what they study, why it matters, and how their work contributes to explaining and predicting regional climate change, including European climate extremes.
The objective of Science Explainers is to bring the motivations, reasoning, and day-to-day challenges of climate research closer to the broader research community and decision-makers. Developed through interdisciplinary collaboration between climate scientists, communication experts, and graphic designers, this format aims to make climate science more transparent and accessible, thereby strengthening understanding of – and trust in – scientific evidence.
